The Magical Doongie is the second book in the Mark & Markus Island Adventure Series. Mark and Markus set off on their second adventure to claim bragging rights of being the best marble player in the annual Portland Marble Competition. As his prized marble, Mark entered the tournament with a magical pearl he found at the bottom of the ocean. The pearl is said to have come from the lost treasure chest of a wizard named Holland. The magical pearl will prove to be the catalyst in the boys future adventures around the island to find the magical treasure chest. Mark and Markus had to learn that it took more than magic, and more than skill to win the marble competition. Most players at the competition were very skilled and Bruff was not only the neighborhood bully, he was the last tournament champion. Mark and Markus had to remember the teachings of Driver, the wise Rasta Man, that only through observation and patience that they could be victorious over their competitors.
